Price wise little over priced compared to the road side stalls but the beautiful ambience makes up for it. I have ordered Mysore soda ,butter masala dosa and Rava onion masala dosa different times. And I have observed difference in each variety. Good taste with different flavours. Service is also good with well mannered staffs. They were helpful. Neat and beautiful interiors. A Vegan’s Relief in New Town! As a vegan, finding good plant-based food in New Town is usually a struggle... but So Southy has been a wonderful surprise. The place is warm, simple, and the staff is genuinely helpful. They easily made my dosa without ghee, and it turned out crisp and delicious. The idlis were soft, the chutneys fresh, and the sambar was honestly one of the best I’ve had. I really appreciate how accommodating they are with vegan requests without making it awkward. If you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just love South Indian food, So Southy is definitely worth visiting. I’m so glad to finally have a dependable spot in this part of Kolkata ..

Recently I've came across this South Indian restaurant in Newtown near Candor we went there for dinner. The place is small but still good enough with a background of south indian songs. It'll definitely give you a vibe that you're sitting somewhere in south india enjoying meal. The uncle himself is South Indian and running this business from past 4 yrs. We've ordered Coffee, Poha, Tomato Rice, Coconut Rice & Uttapam Platter (5 pcs Uttapam). And each of them were best in taste. All freshly prepared very soft & crispy. Its not easy to manage the exact taste it need skills for sure. Price for these foods are average I don't remember exactly but each item ordered was within 250 around. For 4 people it's costs approx 800 and its worth. If you're looking for a restaurant near Newtown you should definitely try this one. I would love to visit again and have some other dishes.

A great place near Candor Gate 1 which serves very authentic South Indian dishes. You can fall in love with dosas all over again if you visit this place. Their Pizza Dosa and Schezwan Masala Dosa is absolutely mind blowing. This is my favourite absolutely. They have authentic Mangaipodi idli which is authentic and you will get hardly anywhere in Kolkata. Also their super filter coffee , lemon rice and coconut rice. Don't forget to end the day with amazing desserts from this place. We had Rava Kesari which we tried for the first time and fell in love for life. Do visit when you are in Newtown and sector V area . They will also open soon in various other places. So do go and fall in love with Authentic South Indian dishes!
